Tip: Giant sunflower blossoms lose their petals and turn into mature seed heads in the fall. Ask a gardener to save a sunflower head for you -- or grow giant sunflowers yourself in your backyard or in a patio container. Sunflowers like rich soil, bright sunshine, and lots of water.
