What You'll Need:
- 9 small gelatin or pudding boxes
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Drawing paper
- Crayons or markers
- White glue
- Craft knife
How to Make Small Box Puzzle:
Step 1: Gather the nine gelatin or pudding boxes together, and place the boxes in a square with three across and three down. Measure this square, and then measure and cut a piece of drawing paper to this size.
Step 2: Draw a picture on the paper -- make it anything you want. It might be your favorite cartoon character, your favorite rock star, even a picture of yourself.
Step 3: When you are finished with your picture, place it face down on the table. Cover the back of your picture with a thick layer of glue.
Step 4: Put a box, widest side down, in the upper left-hand corner of the picture. Lay the next box flush against the end of the first. Lay the third box against the end of the second.
Step 5: Make a second row of boxes, then a third. Be sure the boxes are set as close together as possible.
Step 6: Once the glue has completely dried and hardened, use a craft knife to help your child cut the boxes apart. You'll wind up with a nine-piece puzzle, custom-made with your favorite subject in mind.
For even more fun, add another picture to the back of the boxes for a two-sided puzzle!
Next, create a indoor craft that faithfully holds its place in a favorite book.
