What You'll Need:
Large cardboard box
Scissors
Paints
Paintbrushes
Paper cups
Table
Tape
String
Remove the top of a large cardboard box. Paint the box lots of bright colors, and write the words "Happy Father's Day" on the bottom of the inside.
Let the paint dry. Poke a hole in the bottom of two paper cups. Paint the cups or use some that have colorful designs already on them. Set the box on its side on a table.
Make sure that the open end is several inches away from the edge of the table. Tape a length of string to the top of the left side of the box. The string should be long enough so that it reaches the table edge.
Thread a paper cup onto the string, with the open part facing you. Tape the other end of the string to the table edge. Repeat with another string and paper cup on the top of the right side of the box.
Now you are ready to race with Dad! The paper cups should be resting on the table edge with the openings facing you. At the count of three, blow into the cups and see who can make their cup reach the top of the box first. Is Dad winning? Well, that's what Father's Day is all about!
