EcoChildsPlay is teaming up with the Goddard Schools to test the very best eco-friendly toys of the year, and they're asking for your help. If you have found an eco-friendly toy that your child just loves, that stimulates imaginative play and doesn't break the bank, EcoChildsPlay wants to hear from you.

They are accepting nominations for the Top Green Toy Test through October 1st, and there are two ways to submit a nomination:

- Leave a comment in the contest post over at EcoChildsPlay, stating "I nominate _____ toy company because _____."

- Tweet your nomination by stating "@EcoChildsPlay, I nominate_____ for the #bestgreentoys contest."

There is also a flickr pool in which parents can upload photos of their child playing with their favorite green toy, as well as a Best Green Toys Facebook page where parents can upload photos and leave comments about their favorite toys.

After the nominations are all in, students at the Goddard School will be testing the toys and deciding which ones they like best. This is a wonderful project for all involved: the kids get to play with some great toys, parents can learn about quality toys to buy for their kids, and green toy companies get a little free publicity.

Remember, EcoChildsPlay needs your nominations by October 1st. You can also help spread the word about the contest by Tweeting, using the hashtag #bestgreentoys, between now and then.

So, what's your favorite green toy of 2009? Tell us about it, then be sure to head over to EcoChildsPlay's Top Green Toy Test and nominate it!
