It's easy enough to reuse plain brown cartons that are shipped your way, but FedEx or UPS boxes are a bit trickier, especially if you don't plan on using the same delivery mode. The solution? Turn them inside out.

Deconstruct your box by carefully peeling apart any glued-down pieces. You should find yourself with a flat piece of cardboard. Flip your box over so that the plain, brown side is facing outward. Then, using packing tape-I prefer gummed paper tape to the plastic kind-reassemble the box. The result: A plain brown shipping box you can address and send through the regular post.
