How to Make Swirling Paper Twirls:
Step 1: To make a circular twirl, slip the end of a quilling strip into the slit on the quilling tool, and gently roll the paper around itself. Let go, and slip the paper twirl off the tool. Use a toothpick to apply a bit of glue to the outside end of the paper strip to create a round shape.

Step 2: Create a variety of shapes by using different lengths of quilling strips and pinching paper twirls. Try these simple shapes in combinations to create your own design:
- Teardrop: Repeat step 1 to make a circular twirl, and pinch 1 edge.
- Triangle: Repeat step 1 to make a circular twirl, and pinch 3 edges.
- Heart: Fold a paper strip in half, and twirl each end toward the middle.
- S-shape: Twirl one end of a quilling strip toward the middle. Twirl the other end in the other direction toward the middle.

Try out different shapes like these.
Step 3: Lay the finished shapes on wax paper. Glue the shapes together to create various designs.
